birthday week.

some of the birthday weeks events:

wednesday: jonny's birthday! dinner with his family @ goodwood, (one of his favorites) and some GREAT gifts, real salt lake tickets (front row!) & $50 to happy sumo. i also got him some sanuks, 2 discs and a disc golf bag. he seemed like he loved everything, and considering he's super picky, i'd say it was a success!
friday: miles and i went to seven peaks to use our passes for the first time, it was super fun and brought back memories! we met meredith and hibbin there and played for a few hours. later that evening, after meeting my parents & their best friends at a wedding, jonny stayed home with jasper while i went and saw eclipse. love that movie.

saturday: jonny, very surprisingly, mentioned wanting to go to seven peaks, so all of us went & met up with nate, meres and hibbin. it was fun with him, i'm excited to keep going the rest of the summer. its nice to only be there a few hours but to get some sun, let miles play, and spend time out of the house together. that night we went up to salt lake city to celebrate jonny's birthday with my parents. dennis, kennya & kennedy also came up and we had dinner at ruth's diner (as seen on 'diners, drives in & dives'). they got him a pair of "nice" jeans for his birthday that look pretty awesome on him. after dinner, we went to baskin robins and to my parents. it was a fun night, but we stayed LATE and the drive home complete with i-15 traffic wasn't great.
sunday: unfortunately, the only pictures we got of the week were taken today, and they were taken of a very unwelcome guest in our backyard. say hello to carl...
yes! that is a sick bat. jonny was out back doing some yard work & looked over & saw this little guy.
jonny thinks he's cool, miles wanted to kill it, and i'm just scared it's going to give us rabies like on the office.

Oh my goodness, I had no idea there were bats like that in Utah! Hope it doesn't hang around for very long!

They actually fly down from the canyon to grab food around four or five a.m. If you're in the right place you can see dozens that look like little birds flying by. The little guy must have found some good insects in your yard. I'm sure he'll move on soon. : )
