did you all have a good fourth weekend?
we did!
started it off friday night, we took jasper downtown to the freedom festival and literally, we can't walk 5 feet without someone commenting on how cute he is, or asking what kind of dog he is, etc... unfortunately it was a little overwhelming for him, so we walked over to guru's and had some dinner outside while he hid under jonny's chair.saturday, we tried to relax a bit to gear up for our big night...a fun family filled bbq at my grandparents (complete with ALL 3 great grandchildren) and a new obsession with izze drinks (grapefruit is the best). then we trekked over to midway to watch the fireworks from my dad's house. love their yard and having the kids there for miles to play with. they loved jasper of course and so did their little year old lab ghia. "samanta" jonnys sister came with us, and i think became miles new best friend...the first thing he said when he woke up the next morning is "where's samanta?"
sunday, we were dead tired, but jasper was NOT...we decided to head out on a little advent ure. we drove up to south fork and explored around. i loved having all 3 of our boys stomping through the "forest"...it makes me crave real, big forests. afterwards, we went to the holts for a 4th of july bbq and spent a little time with them since the twins are in idaho and samantha is lonely...he loves to play with the cowboy stuff at the house!
monday, we went to the parade and had a great curb spot thanks to jonny's office being on the parade route. no sleeping out necessary! miles loved it, seeing the big balloons and the floats, but he was tired...i had to wake him up to make it there on time. later that night, we had another little family outing up in slc, my cousins are both leaving soon, one for london for an amazing internship, and the other is my cousin ashlee, who is moving with her husband and daughter to VA for him to go to school. i also got to see my mom's new house, which i'm SO jealous of. a cute old home that's been updated right a block from 9th south & 9th east in salt lake.
i also have to mention how amazingly amazing my company is! they've just approved me to take my hours down, back to part time (after just upping them 6 months ago) so i am now working full days tuesday, wednesday and thursday...and staying home with meelos on mondays & fridays! i'm really so grateful to be able to spend time with him, it was super important to me, especially considering he'll be in school before we know it!

Now you have the same days off as me! And I guess everyone who wants to see pictures of the other side of the family you spent time with, will have to come over to my blog ;-)
Just kidding, love the pictures! Especially that last one of Miles! And I remember people always commenting on Sequoia too, and towards the end, the reply became, "Yes she is beautiful! Do you want her??" Haha!
